Mission Karmayogi: Cabinet initiates Civil Services reforms, approves capacity building programme for officers

The  Union Cabinet has approved Civil Services reforms today by introducing a Capacity Building Programme which would harmonize training standards, create shared faculty and resources in all central training institutions of the country. It would be called Mission Karmayogi which is a National Programme for Civil Services capacity building. The programme would especially benefit civil servants- IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS officers of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his twitter handle to express his views on the new programme. He said, "National Program for Civil Services Capacity Building approved in today’s cabinet will radically improve the Human Resource management practices in the Government. It will use scale & state of the art infrastructure to augment the capacity of Civil Servants."

The Civil Servants are selected through an All India Exam organized by Union Public Services Commission, UPSC. The Karmayogi programme would help in capacity building of all selected officers so that they remain in touch with the Indian culture along with the best practices of the modern-day world. Take a look at what Prakash Javedkar had to say on the Mission Karmayogi.
